GERMAN SILVER

“Cool-toned at dawn, richly antiqued with each chapter of your life.”

Our German Silver pieces begin with a solid metallurgical base of copper, zinc, and nickel, meticulously cold-worked and hand-engraved to create a distinctive, moonlit silver tone. But German Silver is never a static metal—it is a living, breathing canvas designed to record how you wear it.

Our artisans intentionally oxidise the deepest carved crevices of traditional Bengal chokers, floral filigree, and temple motifs. Over time, contact with air and daily wear softens the raised planes, creating high-contrast depth and a museum-quality heirloom patina that factory electroplating could never mimic.

RAW BRASS

“Not a simulation of gold, but an honest celebration of earthen warmth.”

At Lajjha, we embrace brass for exactly what it is. Forged from an intimate alloy of copper and zinc, brass is beloved throughout Indian art for its reassuring heft, bell-metal acoustics, and radiant amber-golden glow.

Unlike synthetic imitation gold that flakes off to expose brittle white pot metal, solid unplated brass ages gracefully with air and moisture. Over months and years, it softens into a velvety antique bronze finish, capturing an authentic vintage royal palace aesthetic.

The Lajjha Manifesto

WHY WE REFUSE HOLLOW ELECTROPLATING

Fast fashion created jewellery that looks acceptable under showroom spotlights for one evening and flakes off into the trash the next month. We build heirlooms.

01

No Peeling or Blistering

Electroplated pieces feature an imperceptible microscopic chemical flash. Once that micro-coating scratches, the ugly grey or orange base emerges irreversibly. Our metals are solid right to the core—meaning their color goes all the way through.

02

Living Chemistry

Fine metal responds to human contact, warmth, and the atmosphere. Rather than fearing oxidation, we celebrate it. The patina on your Lajjha neckpiece is your signature—a visual diary of where you have journeyed together.

03

Eternal Restorability

Because our metals are solid 92.5 Silver, Raw Brass, and German Silver, they can always be cleaned, re-buffed, polished, or handed down to daughters and granddaughters fifty years from today without ever losing their foundational structural integrity.

Preservation Rituals

CARING FOR YOUR LIVING HEIRLOOMS

Preserving solid noble metals is simple and meditative. Learn how to maintain your pieces across decades.

Electroplated jewellery involves submerging cheap base metals into micro-thin chemical flash coatings that wear off within weeks of contact with sweat, perfume, or air—leaving unsightly orange streaks and skin irritation. We believe jewellery should be forged from solid, unplated noble metals (92.5 Sterling Silver, artisanal German Silver, and Raw Brass) that naturally age into beautiful heirloom patinas rather than deteriorating.
